MONACO (MON): The new Olympic Stadium in Tokyo will host the first World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting of next year. The meeting will be a test event for Tokyo 2020 12 weeks later. The 2nd edition of the series was officially confirmed and comprise 11 meetings in 10 countries. The new meet is Irena Szewinska Memorial in Bydgoszcz, Poland. It starts with Tokyo and ends with Nairobi. The dates: 9 May – Continental Tour Meeting, Tokyo (JPN); 19 May – 60th Golden Spike, Ostrava (CZE); 5 Jun – Racers Adidas Grand Prix, Kingston (JAM); 6-Jun – FBK Games, Hengelo (NED); 8 Jun – Paavo Nurmi Games, Turku (FIN); 30 Jun – Irena Szewinska Memorial/Bydgoszcz Cup, Bydgoszcz (POL); 6-Jul – Gyulai István Memorial, Székesfehérvár (HUN); 5 Sep – Kamila Skolimowska Memorial, Chorzów (Silesia) (POL); 14 Sep – Zagreb Hanzekovic Memorial, Zagreb (CRO); 18 Sep – Kip Keino Classic, Nairobi (KEN); Date TBC – Continental Tour Meeting, Nanjing (CHN).
